Liposuction

The technique of removing the topical fat, with the aid of snout and negative pressure, is named liposuction and is successfully applied in the last years on a great number of patients. The raise of the body weight is mainly due to fluid retention and fat concentration in the lipo-cells, which have a steady number. With liposuction, we attain a decrease in the number of these lipo-cells in the area to be operated. In that area, there is no more fat concentration and therefore the result is permanent. The incisions to pass the snout are small, up to 1 cm long, and disappear after a few days. Liposuction can be applied to any part of the body. Nates, thighs, knees, calfs and the abdomen are most common areas that the fagt is concentrated. Liposuction makes the shape of the body more appealing, it does not lessen someone’s weight. The removal of topical fat mainly in the thighs creates relaxation. The more fat is removed the bigger is the relaxation. On the contrary, the more elastic a patient’s skin is, the smaller the relaxation would be. The younger the patient, the smaller the relaxation. Thus, the ideal patient for liposuction would be a youth with topical fat, whereas a less ideal patient would be an obese elderly. The big problem of cellulitis is not solved through liposuction; it may however worsen in some cases.

The patient who is going to be treated for liposuction must come to the surgery foodless and without having drunk water for the past 6 hours before the operation. The surgery is simple and it takes 30 minutes to an hour. The patient should have with his a special stay that will be worn at the end of the surgery. A wide hole is opened, so as the patient can freely make his physical needs for the first 4 post-operational days without removing it. The pre-operational check-up (General Blood Test, Blood Glucose and Blood Urea Test, Na+, K+, Electrocardiogram, Ro Chest), which is needed for the operation, can be done before or on the day of the operation. The patient will get out of the hospital 2-3 hours later, after the dizziness of the anesthesia fades away. If during the operation an excess amount of fat is removed, the patient will have to stay in the hospital for a day, so as the patients fluids would be restored. On the 4th day, the patient himself removes the stay and the gauzes for a shower; he dries himself, wears again the stay and visits the doctor for the first estimation. The stitches are removed on the 7th day. The elastic stay is preserved for a month and it is removed only for a bath.

Right after the surgery, the patient notices intense bruises on the spots of the liposuction, and a sense of burning. A pain so intense that will make the patient to take some painkillers rarely exists. The bruises start fading from the 7th day and they are disappeared from the 20th-25th day. The patient could go to the gym from the 10th day. A small relaxation or cellulitis may appear, and it is addressed with astrictions or massage in beauty centers, or even better with a special massage program that the doctor suggests. A special massage program should be the rule, 20 days after the operation. The program lasts for 6 weeks, twice weekly, with the aid of special equipment, and it seems that this program contributes importantly and effectively in dealing with cellulitis.

The liposuction must be done with general anesthesia and by no means has dangers, which many media misinform. In researches of millions of liposuctions throughout the world, only a very small number became ill, and none died from this operation, provided of course that these operations had be performed from responsible plastic surgeons in an organized operational room.

The use of aspirin for 4 days before the operation is forbidden.
